Contact Lenses

UV or ultraviolet contact lenses do one special thing – block the harmful rays of the sun from penetrating your eyes. If you are fond of using sunglasses, you must know how important UV protection can really be. Shielding your eyes from UV rays is protecting it from acquiring further damage.

With that said, UV contact lenses can practically take the job of your shades and sun visors. If you choose to use this variant, you may not have to wear both contact lenses and sunglasses at the same time. The lenses would do the job for you – give you a pair of attractive eyes and keep away the sun’s harmful UV rays.

While most of the UV contacts available today are either Plano or colored contact lenses, there are some that are also designed to correct certain vision problems. These are the lenses of choice for you. If you are given the option between the regular pair and UV contact lenses, the latter is clearly the better pick.

However, keep in mind that one brand of contact lenses may provide a different level of UV protection compared to the others. When choosing which brand to go for, you can always consider the reputation of its manufacturers and the feedback it gets from its actual users.

Also, certain studies show that the shielding power of contact lenses may not always come close to that of sunglasses. So if you are going to be under the heat of the sun for so long, like if you’re sunbathing, be sure to get the UV contact lenses and your favorite pair of sunglasses working together to achieve the best effect.

UV contact lenses are indeed a welcome innovation for regular users. Through them, the eyes are taken cared for even more. Too much exposure to the sun’s UV rays may cause eye problems such as cataracts and certain types of eye diseases. With these contacts covering your eyes, you would have better peace of mind walking under the sun.
